Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Dockett, operated by Dockett Pty Ltd ("Dockett", "we", "our"). By accessing or using Dockett, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Description of service
Dockett is a cloud-based job management application for tradespeople that provides tools for creating quotes and invoices, tracking jobs, scheduling work with calendar management and double-booking detection, sending client scheduling notifications (including email and calendar invites), recording voice notes, and managing client information. The service is available via web browser and mobile application.
2. Account registration
To use Dockett you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised account access
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Subscription and billing
Dockett offers a free trial period followed by a paid subscription:
- Pro Plan: $29.00 AUD per month (including GST where applicable), billed monthly.
- Your subscription begins at the end of the free trial unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- Subscription fees are charged in advance at the start of each billing period.
- Cancel anytime: You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then.
- No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Services Agreement.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dockett to:
- Violate any applicable Australian or international law or regulation
- Engage in fraudulent activity or misrepresent your business information
- Upload harmful, malicious, or illegal content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Dockett's systems or other users' data
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform
5. User responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of all quotes, invoices, and financial information you create in Dockett
- Complying with your obligations under the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regarding GST, ABN, and invoicing requirements
- Obtaining appropriate consents before entering your clients' personal information
- Ensuring you have your client's permission before sending them scheduling notifications or calendar invites via Dockett
- Maintaining backups of business-critical data
Dockett provides tools to assist with business administration but does not provide legal, financial, or tax advice. Consult a registered accountant or tax advisor for advice specific to your situation.
6. Intellectual property
Dockett and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Dockett Pty Ltd and are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all content you create using Dockett (quotes, invoices, job notes). You grant Dockett a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dockett shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content (quotes, line items, transcriptions)
- Service interruptions or data loss beyond our reasonable control
Our total liability to you in any calendar month shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by you in that month.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Service availability
We aim to provide 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We may perform scheduled maintenance and will endeavour to notify users in advance. We are not liable for any loss caused by service downtime.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or fail to pay subscription fees. Upon termination, your right to access the service ceases immediately. You may export your data prior to account closure.
10. Changes to terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Dockett after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
